Australian journalist and video chronicler of the Ukrainian Femen women’s movement, Kitty Green, has been detained in Belarus, Interfax reported on Tuesday. Green was recording a protest outside of KGB headquarters, in which topless Femen women activists were masquerading as Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko, after which she was detained together with several other journalists. Interfax quoted a Femen activist as saying that she was most likely being held by the KGB.
“Femen urges the diplomatic mission of Australia to strongly intervene in the fate of its citizen. The women’s movement Femen urges the Belarusian authorities to immediately release the journalist," Newsru.com quoted a press statement released by the Femen movement as saying on Tuesday.
